Google Looks to Radars as Camera Replacement

Google Project_SoliClick to enlargeA new sensor, called Project Soli, which can be used to accurately track tiny hand movements has been shown off at Google I/O. The chip, for wearables, differs from other motion trackers in using radar, rather than cameras. The system can recognise very fine movements, and is intended to replace all current interfaces, such as touchscreens. A video about the sensor can be watched at http://tinyurl.com/oh67yzl.
