Right on schedule, pre-orders are now available for the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, following the couple’s official launch event earlier this week. The standard Pixel 3 features a 5.5″ P-OLED display with a 1080 × 2160 resolution, 443 ppi and an 18:9 aspect ratio, with 100% DCI-P3 coverage and HDR.
Its Android 9 Pie operating system is powered by a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 4GB RAM and up to 128GB internal storage. There’s no micro SD card slot though, so that’s as good as it gets.
The primary camera may only have one 12.2MP lens, but that lens has a lot of functionality, with optical image stabilisation, dual-pixel phase-detection auto focus, auto-HDR and video capture in up to 2160p30, as well as enhanced Google Lens integration. The 8+8MP internal camera also has auto-HDR and shoots in 1080p30.
Additionally, the device has a fast-charging 2,915mAh battery, USB 3.1 and USB-C connectivity, Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC capabilities, plus a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Meanwhile, the XL variant shares many of the same specs, aside from a larger 6.3″ display with a resolution of 1440 × 2960 and 523 ppi. The battery also has a larger capacity of 3,430mAh.
Both devices start shipping in the US on October 18th and in the UK on November 1st. The Pixel 3 is priced from $799, while the Pixel 3 XL retails from $899.
