Gigabyte introduced several new laptops under the Aorus brand; the first and more powerful model took the form of the X7. Like other Aorus models, it is a gaming notebook.
The X7 features Nvidia’s G-Sync technology and a 17.3″ display (1920 x 1080). An Intel Core i7 processor (Haswell) drives the product, while two Geforce GTX 970M GPUs, in an SLI configuration, provide graphics. 8GB of RAM are installed, and up to three external displays – each 1920 x 1080 – can be supported.
Next is the X5: this is a slightly less powerful model, but featuring a newer Intel processor. The notebook features a 15.6″ display with an unusual 2880 x 1620 (16:9) resolution on an IPS panel. This is combined with 350 cd/m² of brightness and Nvidia’s G-Sync technology. Windows runs on the X5’s Core i7 Broadwell processor, with two Nvidia Geforce GTX 965M GPUs, in an SLI configuration.
Both the X7 and X7 boast 8GB of RAM (32GB maximum), three 512GB SSDs in a RAID0 configuration and a 2TB HDD. All thermal components (six or eight pipes, four vents and two fans) are located at the rear of the notebooks. To achieve the sub-22.9mm thickness, the heat sinks, with fans, are at the side of the notebooks. Thermal pipes run through the CPU and GPU together.
Finally is the X3, which actually has the sharpest display of the three: 14″ 3200 x 1800. It also features three mSATA SSDs (size was not provided), but no HDD.
Gigabyte also showed a host of ‘Ultraforce’ (P-Series) laptops, which use Core i7 Broadwell processors, ranging from 14″ – 17.3″.
The P37X v4 is P-Series flagship, and is said to be the thinnest and lightest laptop with its particular GPU: the GTX 980M, with 8GB of VRAM. Two 512GB SSDs and two 2TB HDDs (all hot-swappable) are installed, and the laptop features mini-DisplayPort. 970M and 965M graphics are also available, on the P37W and P37K.
Next is the 15.6″ P35X v4, which is identical in CPU, GPU and storage. This model features 2880 x 1620 resolution and an IPS panel.
A quad-core Intel Core i7 processor and GTX 970M graphics are installed in the P34W v4: a 14″ laptop. It has a single 512GB SSD and 2TB HDD. The 15.6″ P55W has the same GPU and storage, as well as 1920 x 1080 resolution.
Gigabyte has installed a GTX 950M GPU in its 17.3″ P17F. This model features the same storage as the P34W. It also has 1920 x 1080 resolution, with an anti-glare coating, and 72% NTSC coverage.
The final model is the 15.6″ P15F, which unlike the other notebooks has a Core i7 Haswell processor. GPU and storage are the same as the P17F, although it also featured an ODD bay that can be used for additional storage.
