Germany: Apple Raises iPhone Prices

Apple

Apple has raised the price of its iPhone in Germany. The company, along with Samsung and other smartphone makers, agreed to pay a fee of €5-€7 for each phone or tablet imported to the country in December; this money will be distributed to content producers. The agreement is based on a 1965 German law, which allows consumers to make private copies of sound, images or texts in return for a small levy on the device.
