In Q1’15, Taiwan’s G-Tech Optoelectronics will begin to produce 3D-forming glass (using materials from Corning) for use in vehicles and smartphone screens. According to sources in the country, monthly capacity will begin at 200,000 sheets, rising to 600,000 in mid-2015 and 2 million by the end of the year. The company is said to be talking to customers in Europe already, as well as China’s Oppo.
