Future MacBook Pros could add Force Touch to the Touch Bar

What They Say

TechRadar reported, based on information from Patently Apple, that Apple has a new patent that covers adding Force Touch to the Touch Bar used on the Mac Book Pro. The force-sensing technology was previously added, then quietly removed, from the iPhone and the Apple Watch.

The article suggests that the technology could be used to reduce false touches on the Touch Bar.

What We Think

Force touch certainly makes interaction richer and more sophisticated – that’s why features such as aftertouch have been added to musical keyboards. I could see it making applications easier to use, providing there is good support for the force input data. (BR)
