FujiTV Uses New P2P Technology for 4k Streaming

Tokyo-based startup Mist Technologies has launched an UltraHD streaming service with FujiTV – Japan’s largest TV network. The service represents Japan’s first commercial UltraHD broadcasting system. It uses a peer-to-peer technology developed by Mist, which is based on Javascript and WebRTC. Content data is shared between users in a way that prevents server overloading. Mist says that bitrates could be as high as 40MB/s.
