French Signage Market Remains Positive

OVAB Europe has announced the results of its Digital Signage Business Climate Index (DBCI) (November/December) for France – Europe’s third-largest market for digital signage. Invidis carried out the survey, in partnership with Club du Digital Media.

The vertical market signage distribution in France is similar to that of the DACH countries, but with a different weighting. Retail, at 22.3%, is the largest vertical (DACH: 31.5%), followed by Corporate Communication (12.6%/10.8%) and banking (9%/6.6%). In DACH, Industry (7.3%) is in third place. The French signage market is less-dependent on retailers’ willingness to invest, but is more reliant on the banking sector. The range of corporate networks in the country is rising, with networks of more than 300 screens frequently in use – the banking sector uses networks of up to 1,000 screens.

The business climate was said to still be slightly positive (41.7 basis points) in France. 90% of surveyed companies were positive about the situation and more than 55% expect favourable conditions over the next six months. Fewer than 5% believe that the coming months will be worse.

OVAB’s DBCI covers all European markets except Ireland, the UK and the Nordics. A UK version is planning for spring 2015.
