Foxconnto Ship 2-3 Million iPhone X Handsets Ahead of Release

Foxconn will ship 2-3 million iPhone X handsets ahead of the smartphone’s official release on November 3rd, according to Economic Daily Report.

EDR states that analyst Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities has predicted that Foxconn will ship 25-30 million iPhone X units in the fourth quarter of 2017, a reduction on the previous estimate of 30-35 million (however, the Nikkei Asian Review reports that the total will only be around 20 million)

The report goes on to say that iPhone X shipments will increase by 50% in the first quarter of 2018. The issues surrounding the device’s 3D camera sensor will come to an end soon, as suppliers LG Innotek and Sharp will increase shipments of components beginning in November.

Sharp has partnered with touch module specialists General Interface Solution, of which Foxconn is a major shareholder, to provide technical assistance in the production of the sensor.
