Foxconn Hit by Covid Restrictions in China

What They Say

Foxconn has shutdown its facility in Shenzen after Chinese authorities imposed a partial lockdown due to a rise in Covid-19 cases, Nikkei reported. There were reported to be 60 new infections in the country on Sunday and all 17 million citizens in the city will be tested. Others affected included GIS the touch company and Unimicron, a PCB maker. Other companies were also affected by shutdowns in Shanghai, where 64 cases were reported.

What We Think

I suspect that it will get increasingly difficult for China to deal with Covid via lockdowns. Life in the UK is pretty much back to normal, with few masks around in most places, although care homes and medical facilities are still taking extra care. (BR)
