Foxconn and its Sharp subsidiary are planning to set up a new LCD TV panel factory in China, according to the Nikkei. Foxconn would provide the finance, while Sharp, of course, has manufacturing expertise. The fab would be at the G10.5 or G11 scale and could come on line in 2019. The total investment could end up around ¥800 billion ($6.95 billion) and Guangzhou has been initially identified as a location, although the final decision may reflect investments by local government.
