Fitness Wearables to Treble in Four Years

Juniper Research has published a new report, predicting that fitness wearable use will rise by almost 300% by 2018. About 19 million such devices are in use today. Fitness products will dominate wearables to 2018; however, ‘the broader appeal of smart watches will mean that they will be used more frequently in later years’. Over the next four years, basic devices like Xiaomi’s MiBand will sell based on their price; more premium products will sell based on their features. The higher-end fitness wearables are also expected to compete with smartwatches.
