A report from Cheetah Mobile Security Lab claims that Android tablets are being sold online, including from large sites like Amazon, with a pre-installed trojan virus. The malware, called Cloudsota, is able to open installed apps and replace boot animations and wallpapers with adverts. Cheetah believes that more than 17,200 infected tablets have been sold to date, worldwide. All of the infected tablets are from Chinese makers, such as Rockchip, Wondermedia and white box vendors.
