What They Say
Invidis reports that Screen Experts of Münster in Germany has developed a patented coating process for making LED displays fireproof and called, imaginitively enough ‘Screen Fire Protectio’ or SFP.
No details of the multi-layer process are disclosed, but there are two different layers. As a result, the displays can achieve building material classes A2-s1-d0 according to the EN 13501-1 standard and displays are available from 2.6 millimeters and up in Q4 2022.

What We Think
Fire protection, like RFI, can sometimes be a bit of an afterthought, until it suddenly becomes important. (see this article from 10 years ago on the delays to Brandenburg airport caused by issues with fire protection.) (BR)
