Eyedak Uses Smartphone as Screen

Eyedak, a company based in Scotland, is developing a VR headset called Vrase, to compete with the Oculus Rift and Sony’s Morpheus. Like Samsung’s (rumoured) Gear VR headset (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 28), it uses a smartphone as the main display. The lenses in the headset make the displayed images 3D. Six of the ‘best-selling’ smartphone models can be used in the prototype; a universal adapter has been designed for other shapes.
