Everlight Loses Nichia LED Patent Appeal

The court of appeal in Düsseldorf, Germany, has confirmed that Everlight and its German subsidiary were in breach of Nichia’s patents, so Everlight’s appeal against the early decision in favour of Nichia has been upheld. Although the court did not allow a further appeal, German sources have pointed out that Everlight could ask the Federal Court of Justice to allow an appeal.
