Universal Display Corporation has announced a new partnership with Chinese AMOLED manufacturer Everdisplay Optronics, to supply them with phosphorescent OLED materials to be used in their products.
Everdisplay started out in 2014, producing smaller AMOLED displays for wearables and smartphones, but began a $4 million factory construction project at the end of last year.
The new, larger factory, situated in Shanghai and expected to commence operations in January 2019, will enable the company to increase their production capacity by 150%.
The company is also developing flexible and transparent OLEDs, as well as OLEDs to be used for VR and automotive applications.
