The European Court of Justice has upheld a €210 million fine imposed on LG Display (LGD) for its part in the cartel of LCD panel makers between 2001 and 2006.
The company was originally fined €215 million, which the EU’s General Court reduced by €5 million last year. LGD appealed against the fine, seeking to have it reduced further, arguing that the European Commission should not have taken into consideration panel sales to LGD’s then parents, LG Electronics and Philips. However, the Court dismissed LGD’s argument as “unfounded”.
