EU Launches Initiative to Support Pi-Scale OLED Lighting Projects

Following the 2016 launch of the Pi-Scale flexible OLED production line project in 2016, the European Union has launched Lyteus, a €14 million ($16.3 million) initiative within Pi-Scale. Its website states that, “Lyteus provides the expertise and capability required to progress a concept from an idea and into a commercialised product”.

Lyteus is currently working with four customers — Audi, Rehau, Emde and Pilkington — and developing flexible OLED lighting products in the automotive, aeronautics and designer luminaires sectors. Its partners include Fraunhofer FEP, Holst Centre and others.
