The European Commission has given the green light to Intel proposed acquisition of Altera (Intel, Samsung Rumoured to Be on Acquisition Trail). It is the EC’s belief that the combined entity will continue to face effective competition in Europe.
Intel’s proposed acquisition was called off in April, after the two companies were unable to agree on a price, but resumed one month later. A deal was signed in June (Intel to Buy Altera for $16.7 Billion).
