Epson US announced the Home Cinema 1450 projector, a 3LCD unit with 4,200 lumens of 1920 x 1200 output. The projector has contrast of ‘up to’ 15,000:1 and uses a 300W UHE lamp. There is ±30º automatic vertical keystone correction and ±20º horizontal. The Throw ratio is 1.57 in wide mode and 2.58 in Tele mode from the zoom lens and image sizes from 45″ – 260″ (1.51m – 8.89m) are supported.
Inputs include dual HDMI (1 with MHL) and VGA as well as composite video. Audio is 16W (mono) and fan noise is quoted at 37dB.
The unit is available in mid-April and lists for $1,499.
Analyst Comment
This level of brightness is high for a home cinema projector and the performance ought to be good in relatively bright ambient conditions. (BR)
