Industry sources in Taiwan have revealed that LED chip maker Epistar will demonstrate its miniLED technology at this year’s Touch Taiwan exhibition in Taipei, which runs from August 29th to 31st. Applications on show will include miniLED backlighting in LCD panels for TV, automotive and smartphone devices, plus RGB three-in-one fine pixel-pitch displays for digital signage.
Epistar has been getting ready for mass production of miniLED technology throughout the first half of 2018. The company is currently believed to be commencing trial production in the second half of 2018, with volume production going ahead in 2019.
