Digitimes reported that Ennostar (the holding company for Lextar and Epistar) now has orders to keep itself busy until Q3 2021, with utilisation at 80% to 90%. More than 50% of its miniLED chip production capacity is said to have been booked by Apple for use in backlights.
The report said that 30% of revenues will come from miniLED this year, but with more overall sales in the first half of the year.
What We Think
Apple is expected to launch new iPad Pro models (11″ and 12.9″) in March and leaks in the last day or so suggest there may be a new Apple pencil. It is also expected to be very fast, based on a chip that could match the M1 Mac chip, according to Forbes.com. (BR)
