What They Say
Invidis published an article that dug into the ‘Frameless’ digital art experience close to London’s Marble Arch. The installation uses more than 50 Panasonic 3-chip DLP projectors to show digital versions of famous artworks after they were chosen from a short list of three projector makers. 80% of the projectors are fitted with ‘periscope’ UST lenses so that the devices can be hidden in the ceiling and to minimise shadows. Mirrors and reflective foils were also used to optimise the experience.
The experience uses 158 speakers and is designed to work well when visitors use their own devices to take videos and stills of the images to share on social media.
The exhibition uses 479 megapixels and one million lumens of brightness over four regular galleries and one used for corporate and educational events.
What We Think
There are lots more images on the Invidis website and there is a video here. I wish I had seen this event before I was in London last week – I would have tried to get along. (BR)
