EMRight Technology Can Supply Pens for Chromebooks

What They Say

EMRight Technology, an affiliated company of ViewSonic, said it has been approved as a supplier by Google and can enter the Chromebook supply chain with its EMR and capacitive touch pen systems.

In 2017, it developed an active capacitive stylus pen, conforming with the Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP), and earned Windows HLK certification, and became part of Microsoft’s stylus pen ecosystem. In 2020, EMRight became a member of the Universal Stylus Initiative (USI) led by Intel and Google.

MRight’s stylus pen technology offers 8192 levels of pressure sensitivity, a 266 points per second report rate, and a ±0.1 mm accuracy level.

What We Think

ViewSonic set up a J/V with Chinese eReader brand, Hanvon, in 2013. However EMRight was established in 2015 and makes no reference to Hanvon on its website, so perhaps they ‘parted their ways’. I do remember meeting with staff from a ViewSonic EMR start-up at a trade show in the past, but I can seem to find it in my database. (BR)
