Electronica Will Feature Components and Displays

Ultra-thin and integrated capacitors will be shown by Fraunhofer IPMS’ Centre for Nanoelectronic Technologies (CNT) (A4.113). The capacitors will have a high capacity and features specially-tailored for industrial applications. A compact capacitor has been developed with Fraunhofer IZM-ASSID and ALD Lab Dresden, for direct IC packaging. The design and features can be adapted for specific customer requirements. Additionally, Fraunhofer says that a range of capacity values can be achieved through the use of high-k materials (materials with a high dielectric constant) and a ‘special structuring process’.

As well as direct integration, the new capacitor can be used in high-end printed circuit boards, used in interposers or directly on the chip metallisation level.

The CNT also works on nanopatterning using electron beam lithography, and the development of new highly reliable chip wiring technologies. Both of these will be shown at Electronica.

A 58″ sunlight-readable UltraHD display will be shown by Litemax (A3.435). The unit will be used in combination with Litemax’s network extender technology, which can be used to daisychain multiple displays. Other new units to be introduced will include a double-sided 27″ and ‘stretched’ 28″ and 38″ models for signage. Litemax will also show its ‘Spanpixel’ ultra-wide resizing LCD display (10″ – 49″); a range of industrial panel monitors (6.4″ – 23″) and a full line of open-frame displays for DOOH applications.
