Chinese company Yuneec has created an HMD specifically for first-person drone racing. Yuneec’s main business is drone manufacture, and its Skyview headset can be used to operate a drone’s onboard camera, as well as more mainstream uses like watching films or playing games.
The Skyview is compatible with Yuneec’s Typhoon H and Tornado H920 drones. It features a 5″ 1280 x 720 display, with a 75.5° field of view. Images from the drone’s camera are fed to the headset live. Once the drone has landed, the headset can connect to a PC to upload video via HDMI.
The headset is being sold now for $250.
