Digitimes Research Forecasts LED Volumes

Digitimes Research forecast that that 303 billion LEDs will ship in 2017, 23.9% up year on year, but with ASPs likely to decline by 17%. 200 billion units are expected to go into lighting, up 39.2%, 33 billion into mobile devices, 17 billion in LED displays and 14.29 billion in LCD backlights in TVs. 14 billion will be used in automotive and 15.7 billion in other backlights in tablets, notebooks and monitors – but this number will be down 8.9%.
