The Mediapad X1 is Huawei’s 7″ tablet: the world’s thinnest, the company claims, at 7.18mm. USA-based Cypress Semiconductor says that the thin body is partly enabled by its Truetouch Gen5 TMA568 capacitive touchscreen controller. The controller can handle finger tracking even while a user is wearing thick gloves, supports hover and enables a ‘double tap to wake’ function. Water tolerance and noise immunity are also features of the controller.
