Farmers are the salt of the earth and they deserve automotive displays as much as anyone else. John Deere, the tractor makers, has given them those displays and is going to upgrade them with the launch of its 2024 tractor models using its new G5 CommandCenter displays. The G5 is boasting a 33% larger screen size than its predecessor, the G4, and the 12.8-inch G5Plus offers 1080P resolution and a faster processor. The displays will also be available to sale later in 2023 for retrofit and aftermarket sales. The G5Plus CommandCenter and G5 CommandCenter will be available on John Deere model year 2024 tractors as standard options.
The G5 display family are also water resistant (IP65) and will retain the familiar user interface from G4 displays. The new license program for advanced features means that farmers and contractors only pay for what they need, and upfront costs are reduced. Regular software updates are being developed and help make the G5 display family future-proof.
