The Elec has reported that CSOT has supplied OLED panels for an older OLED-based smartphone from Samsung that it is supplying in India. The paper reports that the display was developed for the M41 model, but the phone was scrapped and the deal was cancelled. It also reports that a new display is being developed for a phone that will be launched early in 2022 and BOE is also developing a panel for that application.
What We Think
We found an online source that gave the spec of the M41 as having a 6.3″ display with 1080 x 2340 resolution and with a punch-hole. Becoming a supplier to a firm such as Samsung is not a trivial step and each company will be learning about the other. (BR)
