CSOT Begins Operation at Second G8.5 Line

Sources in Asia say that CSOT began manufacturing at its second G8.5 factory, in southern China, in April. In early May, the company began to mass-produce 55″ (1920 x 1080) LCD TV panels, with a yield rate of 80%. Later, 49″ and 55″ UltraHD panels will be produced. Panels will initially be supplied to TCL, say the sources, followed by ‘major China-based TV vendors’ and companies such as Samsung, LG and TPV. The line will reach full capacity by September. Finally, the sources claim that CSOT will cut its production of 32″ panels to 1.1 million monthly, as there is an oversupply in the market today.
