Corning said that Samsung’s flexible LTPS OLED production line would use the Corning Lotus NXT glass as the carrier for manufacture. Corning also said that the Galaxy S8 and S8+ use Gorilla Glass 5.
Analyst Comment
The displays themselves are made on polyimide, but this is mounted on glass for rigidity during manufacture. The glass and polyimide are then separated after manufacture and the glass is reused.
