Protocol newsletter posted an article that looked at developments in streaming this year and categorised 2021 as the ‘post-cable’ year. One of the interesting snippets was that the article said that 8.5 million antennas were sold in the year, with 40 million people watching according to Scripps Network. That number is expected to grow to 53 million by 2025.
What We Think
The antenna data was the only bit of ‘new’ information in the article, but it provided quite a good summary of the various trends in the US TV industry in 2021, including some highlights from advertisers.
