A new survey from Spain’s competition and markets watchdog Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (CNMC) has revealed that 33% of the country’s homes had pay TV at the end of 2017, a 5% growth over 2016, as reported by Advanced Television.
According to the report, 15% of subscribers were attracted to their pay TV service by the offer of TV series box sets, while 21.7% signed up to watch football. The survey also revealed that most households take pay TV as part of a multi-play package. Average revenue per user in 2017 was €78.70 (about $92), a 6.5% increase on the previous year.
