Clearink Displays and Suzhou Jinfu have established a joint venture in Shanghai, to commercialise Clearink’s reflective display technology. It will be used for ePaper applications in China.
The joint venture will address both established and emerging reflective display applications, including mobile phones, eReaders, wearables and tablets. Electronic shelf labels will also be supplied to the Chinese retail market.
Clearink intends to launch its first monochrome product next year, and will show colour prototypes at SID this week. These will then be launched in 2018.
Jinfu supplies display modules and assemblies to companies including BOE, Foxconn and Sony.
