Aeroporti di Roma appointed Clear Channel Italy to update the advertising programme in Rome’s Fiumicino Airport in December 2013 – a project that has now been completed, with LED displays from Absen. Jonathan Goldsmid of Clear Channel Italy chose Absen based on the quality, reliability and ‘price-to-quality ratio’ of the products. Several of the more bespoke installations use Absen’s 2.5mm-pitch A2 LED product, including four large columns of four-sided displays, for a total area of 61.4m².
Two of Absen’s AI06 (6.25mm-pitch) screens, measuring 8 x 4.5m, were installed in the check-in hall of Terminal 3. The AI03 (3.9mm) and AI05 (5.2mm) were also installed in the same location. Terminal 1’s check-in hall was equipped with two large AI03 displays and a 12m² AI03, as well as a 36m² AI05 screen.
Pier B, which is mainly used for premium business passengers, was also updated. Here, Clear Channel again installed four-sided columns of Absen A2s – but upped the number to 10, or 131m². Goldsmid said that advertisers are now “flocking back” to Fiumicino.
