LETI-CEA in Grenoble said that it has developed an autonomous imager that could be used for facial or other image recognition applications in automotive and smart home applications. The system is around the size of a 1€ coin (around a quarter in US coins) and uses just 3-6?W, meaning that it can run for five years on a CR1025 battery.
What We Think
I know it’s not a display, but I thought that this was an interesting bit of technology. LETI-CEA has a lot of skills in optics and micro-electronics. In a normal year, I would have been trying to arrange to be at the Leti Innovation Days on June 22nd and 23rd. Not this year…. (BR)
