Canon Invites Multi-Device Connectivity

The XEED WUX500 is a new LCOS projector from Canon, set to be launched next month. The model is designed for business use and has HDBaseT support and multi-device projection via wireless connectivity. A DICOM-compliant version is also available.

Installation flexibility is supported through built-in edge blending and four-point keystone correction. The WUX500 also has a picture-by-picture mode and can project from a USB source.

Resolution is 1920 x 1200, with a 250W lamp supplying 5,000 lumens of brightness. The projector has a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, 1.8x manual zoom, manual focus and 0° – 60° vertical and +/-10° horizontal lens shift.

Images can be sized between 40″ and 300″, projected from 1.2m – 16.2m (1.39 – 2.51:1 throw ratio). A 5W speaker is featured, with ports for HDMI, DVI-I, VGA, USB-A and RJ45. Dimensions are 337 x 370 x 136mm, and weight is 5.9kg.

Canon will begin to sell the WUX500 soon; a price has not been announced.
