Invidis and ISE have cancelled DSS Europe 2021, which was due to take place in September. A combination of
- a rise in Covid
- tricter safety and health requirements for major events and
- extended or tightened business travel regulations of many companies
have made it impossible to continue with plans.
Invidis will continue with the launch of its yearbook in September.
What We Think
We used to run events and had some great ones, but external issues can be a real challenge. Just before our first one, there was a French air traffic strike and we feared we might have to cancel, but it stopped just a week or so before. Our penultimate event took place just a couple of months after the banking crisis in 2008 which really hit late bookings. I’m just glad we weren’t still in that business over the last couple of years, it must have been a nightmare! (BR)
