Can VR Cure a Stutter?

Gareth Walkom is a student at Nottingham Trent University in the UK. He has been working on a treatment for stuttering using VRET (virtual reality exposure therapy). The headset wearer talks to an animated avatar and the wearer’s movements can be monitored. Stutterers often close their eyes or flicker their eyelids and use of the system can alter these behaviours. See more in this video.
