What They Say
Maker of high quality processing hardware for critical LED wall applications, Brompton Technology, has updated its Tessera software to V3.4 and added has added an extra 3.3 bits of additional precision to improve low grey level performance where panels have Brompton R2 or R2+ interfaces. The firm has also added ‘stacking’ to allow multiple processors to be controlled as one. The firm said that multiple stacks of SZ40 and S8 processors can co-exist on a single LAN, allowing for versatile setups with quicker and greatly simplified control.
The extra bit depth is enabled with a free firmware update.
What We Think
The image shows the difference of the extra bit depth captured with a camera on a 2,000 cd/m² panel running at 20 cd/m² (1%) This kind of improvement should be helpful in LED volumes used in Virtual Production. (BR)
