DSCC reports BOE had a remarkable Q1’23, capturing a record 27% unit share of the flagship smartphone panel market with flexible or foldable OLED displays. Its impressive volume growth and share gains at major smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Huawei, and Oppo were driven largely by sales of foldable and flexible OLED panels. BOE’s YoY unit growth was 81%, and it shipped almost 30 million panels in Q1’23 alone. As BOE narrows the technological gap with Samsung Display and continues to ramp up its new fab in Chengdu, it is expected to hold onto its share gain in Q2’23.
