BOE is nipping at the heels of Samsung Display and LG Display by creating OLED display samples for Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Watch, an anonymous industry source told ET News earlier this week. In the past, BOE has supplied LCD panels to Samsung, but this would mark the first occasion that Samsung has used BOE OLEDs.
Several reports suggest that Huawei has also brought BOE on board to supply 6.4″ AMOLED panels for its forthcoming Mate 20 Pro smartphone, as well as flexible OLED panels for a foldable handset currently scheduled for release in 2019. It has also been suggested that BOE is supplying flexible OLEDs for two other companies.
