What They Say
The Elec reports that BOE wants to get 40% share of the flexible OLED market by 2024, based on comments at a display event in China. The firm believes it will get to 20.3% share this year. The firm also said that the market for flexible OLEDs would be worth $49.7 billion. The paper said that the firm will build a fourth OLED line, B15 at Fuqing. In the short term, the company will suffer reduced orders from Huawei as that company deals with US sanctions, which will reduce the volume from 190 million this year to 50 million handsets next year.
What We Think
BOE has done a good job to get this far, so we wouldn’t bet against it achieving what it plans. (BR)
