BMW Mini and Samsung Preview Round OLED Interaction Units at Gamescom 2023

To draw attention to this feature, Mini chose to present it at Gamescom 2023, using a theme that plays homage to iconic pop culture elements, specifically high-tech labs from science fiction, gaming, and anime genres. The presentation centerpiece is a large incubator tank, evoking imagery from popular works in these genres.

Mini’s relationship with Gamescom 2023 is notable, not only because they are the main sponsor of the merchandise area for the second time, but also because they’re sponsoring the Cosplay Awards at the event.

The company claims that science fiction, a genre that often speculates about the future and technological advancements, serves as the perfect backdrop for Mini’s showcase of their forward-thinking designs. The tower display used by Mini at Gamescom 2023 houses 10 round OLED displays, each about 24 centimeters in diameter.

One of the standout features of the round OLED unit is the Personal Mode. This allows users to customize the display with images from their smartphones, offering a unique personalized driving experience. Attendees at Gamescom 2023 will have the opportunity to see this and other modes firsthand at Mini’s exhibition booth.
