Blue Light Shift Protects Users, Says AG Neovo

Built with AG Neovo’s ‘Opticom’ technology, the new LE series of desktop monitors lower blue light emissions by up to 90%, by changing the wavelength of the light itself and moving it out of the “harmful” range. It is a similar process to that seen in Philips’ ‘SoftBlue’ technology (Display Monitor Vol 21 No 36) and ensures that colour fidelity is kept intact, which is not always the case with filter methods.

In addition to low blue light, the LE monitors have flicker-free LED backlights (250 cd/m²). They have ergonomic stands and can tilt between -5° and 22°, swivel +/-160°, pivot 90° and are height adjustable between 0mm and 130mm.

There are three monitors in the LE series, but they are identical aside from their size. The LE-22 is 21.5″; the LE-24 is 23.6″; and the LE-27 is 27″. All three use IPS panels with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 178° viewing angles and a 7ms response time. They feature HDMI, DVI and VGA ports.

AG Neovo is selling the new LE series now. Price is on application.

Analyst Comments

I’m surprised that AG Neovo is talking about “harmful” blue light. The company has plenty of other monitors that don’t have this option. If it really believes that blue light is genuinely harmful, surely it should introduce it across all its products and, probably, prepare itself for a lot of legal cases by “damaged” users of its earlier products?
