BenQ Eases Large-Venue Installation

Four new high-brightness dual-lamp projectors have been added to BenQ America’s ‘Integrator’s Choice’ lineup. The new Colorific models are designed for large venues; they feature multiple installation options, such as HDBaseT compatibility.

The projectors are the PX9510 (1024 x 768) and SU964 (1920 x 1200) (both 6,500 lumens) and PW9520 (1280 x 800) and PU9530 (1920 x 1200) (both 6,000 lumens). We previously saw the SU964 at ISE (BenQ Clear in B2B Push), and covered both it and the PU9530 pre-Infocomm (BenQ Prepares Colorific Models for Infocomm).

All four projectors feature 10-bit colour processing and seven optional interchangeable lenses; throw ratios range from 0.79:1 to 5.55-8.56:1. Colour wheels can also be switched out, allowing the favouring of brightness or colour. The projectors can be installed 360° vertically and have 2D keystone correction.

The P-Series models feature motorised +/-30° horizontal and vertical lens shift, while this is manual on the SU964. However, the S-Series unit also features corner fit correction.

All models support AMX, Crestron and PJLink systems. HDMI, DVI-D, VGA (in and out), component, composite, S-Video, RJ45/HDBaseT, RS232 and IR receivers (x2) are featured on the P-Series projectors. The PU9530 adds a USB-B port. The SU964 has HDMI (x2), VGA (in and out), component, composite, RJ45/HDBaseT, RS232, USB-B and IR receivers (x2).

The P-Series projectors share specifications, aside from resolution and brightness. They have a 2,800:1 contrast ratio and can throw an image sized between 80″ and 500″. Depending on the lens, zoom is between 1.25x and 1.55x. They use dual 280W lamps, lasting between 2,500 and 3,000 hours. All units measure 505 x 385 x 194mm and weigh 16.5kg (without lens).

BenQ’s SU964 has an 8,300:1 contrast ratio. It can throw a 70″ – 300″ image, with a 1.56-2.34:1 throw ratio and 1.5x zoom. Dual 350W lamps will last between 2,000 and 2,500 hours. The projector measures 443 x 355 x 167mm and weighs 13kg.
