What They Say
BenQ has recently launched a couple of new and different proectors. The first is the GV11, which is a light (970 gms – 2lbs 2oz) device designed for images up to 80″ at two metres and with output of 200 Ansi lumens from an LED-based engine with 800 x 450 resolution. The round unit can be rotated on its magnetic stand. There is 5W of sound and the unit is ‘smart’ with an Android OS and Google TV functionality. It supports wireless casting as well as HDMI. It is for sale in the UK at around £400 (around $380 + tax).
The second unit is the EH620, a FullHD single DLP lamp-based unit with 3400 Ansi lumens of output for up to 150″ displays, but with the unusual feature of a full Windows 11 IoT Enterprise OS integrated. The OS allows the projector to be easily used for meetings based on MS Office 365 and Teams as well as Skype for business. It can support BYOD connections via AirPlay, Google Cast or Mira Cast. A mouse or keyboard can be directly used with the projector.
What We Think
Innovation is still going on in this space although cheaper larger direct view TVs will continue to threaten the category. (BR)
