Back in June 2022, the company had signed a contract for a 12-inch OLEDos wafer production facility in a Huanan enterprise zone. The project’s ambition was to raise a total of 6.5 billion yuan ($908 million) to build out OLEDos manufacturing capabilities in two phases, with the first phase projected to cost 1.5 billion yuan ($209 million), covering 205 acres of real estate.

Now, the company has broken ground on the factory, and expects it to be operational by the end of 2024, and in full production by 2025 with a capacity of 4,000 announced plans to set up equipment by July 2024 and initiate product lighting by December of the same year. By 2025, the project aims to enter mass production, with the first phase expecting to achieve a full production capacity of 4,000 12-inch wafers per month. There is a suggestion that the output equates to about 3.5 billion yuan or $489 million in value. It should also be assumed that the facilities will be able to produce other products from BCDtek’s lineup of ICs and display drivers, as well as OLEDos.
